Gracie Barra Harrogate GBK March Newsletter
We’re really excited for what promises to be a big month for Gracie Barra Harrogate!
First up, a big shout out to our brand new Members of the Month! Max, Casey, Sofia and Charlie absolutely smashed it in February, and are the holders of their respective trophies for March - well done guys!
We’ve got the grand opening of our sister school - Gracie Barra Apperley Bridge on the 23rd of March. This promises to be an amazing day with classes for all age groups throughout the day. We welcome all of our members to come down and check out the new facility, and get on the mats for classes throughout the day (and enjoy the cake)!
We’ll be moving classes upstairs for the week commencing the 11th of March. This is so we can install a new ventilation system in the academy to reduce the humidity that builds up during sessions, making for a more comfortable training experience. Simply head up the stairs and turn left for our temporary training space whilst the improvements are being made.
Tickets are now available for our Vanessa English seminar, taking place on the 5th of April. Vanessa is a world champion black belt and delivers fantastic sessions for kids and adults alike. The GBK seminar will be taking place at 5pm - purchase tickets here!
GBK Member of the Month - February
A HUGE well done to our first ever Members of the Month at Gracie Barra Harrogate! After much deliberation, our coaches chose Max Glennon Carter as our Tiny Champ Member of the Month, Casey Whitehurst as our Little Champs 1 Member of the Month, Sofia Irons as our Little Champs 2 Member of the Month, and last but not least, Charlie Abbott as our Juniors and Teens Member of the Month!
Every single GBK student shows immense effort in each class, and choosing a member from each class is no easy task! Our coaches feel that Max, Casey, Sofia and Charlie showed fantastic resilience and determination throughout the month, and we’re really proud to present them with their trophies! Keep an eye out for our March Member of the Month winners - announced at the end of the month!
Gracie Barra Apperley Bridge Grand Opening
We’re absolutely thrilled to announce the official opening of our new sister club - Gracie Barra Apperley Bridge. Our grand opening event will be taking place on the 23rd of March at Albion Mills, Bradford, and we welcome all of our members to attend on the day.
We’ll be running sessions for all age groups throughout the day, with cakes and treats available for participants and spectators.
It promises to be a fantastic day, come along and see the incredible training space that’s been crafted over the past couple of months, ready for new members to enjoy in Apperley Bridge. Let us know you’re coming by filling out the registration form here.
Vanessa English Seminar
Tickets for the upcoming Vanessa English seminar on the 5th of April are now available! We’re really excited to be welcoming her back to the academy after a brilliant seminar last year on back attacks, and the next one promises to bring just as much unmissable knowledge. Watch this space to reserve your spot for the evening - last year proved to be a popular event, so reserve early!

Our New Ventilation System: Classes To Move Upstairs Week Commencing 11th March
We’re really excited to be installing a new ventilation system at Gracie Barra Harrogate. We absolutely love the space we’ve created and it’s so important to us to keep the improvements coming. The new ventilation system should go quite some way to reducing the humidity that builds up during some of the tougher sessions.
This does mean that once again, classes will be moving upstairs for the week whilst this is installed. Utilising the space upstairs allows us to keep classes running as normal for the duration of the work. Thank you for your patience whilst we make these improvements - we can’t wait to welcome you back to our new and improved training space!
