GB Harrogate Women Take On Total Warrior For New Beginnings

Women from Gracie Barra Harrogate took to the Total Warrior course last weekend to raise vital funds for Harrogate-based charity, New Beginnings Peer Support - with fundraising coming in at £950!

Kelly Baker, Ellie Carson, Rachel Buckley, Dani Turner and Sidney McDermott took on the gruelling 6km course at Bramham Park in support of the local after-crisis domestic abuse service.

New Beginnings said of their effort “We are incredibly grateful to Kelly and her team mates for selecting our charity to be the beneficiaries of their sponsored entry into this year's Total Warrior.”

“Fundraising such as this is vital to our charity and allows us to be responsive to our clients’ needs.”

New Beginnings offers a whole-family, person-centred approach for women and their children requiring support to rebuild their lives after domestic abuse. Serving the Harrogate district as well as Craven and Selby, New Beginnings is celebrating its 5th year, and is aiming to raise a total of £5,000 throughout the year to enable them to provide an additional day a week of peer support.

Kelly said “New Beginnings are an amazing charity, and it was an honour for us as an all female team to be able to fundraise on behalf of such an important cause. I’m so proud of my fellow teammates and all the other members of Gracie Barra Harrogate, friends and family who were kind enough to support us”.
