Team GB Harrogate
Victor Estima Seminar and Winter Grading
A big thank you to everyone who attended our winter seminar with Professor Victor Estima. It was brilliant to take his advice and techniques on board, and we can’t wait to see everyone incorporating their learnings into their games going forward. We’re so proud of everyone at the academy, and it was brilliant to celebrate the success of those who got promoted. A huge well done to all those who leveled up. To our new blue belts: Dan, Tom, Rob, Dom, Harry, Joel and Deri - well done! We’re really proud of the standard of blue belts we have here at Gracie Barra Harrogate, and you’ve shown the dedication and passion to reward your hard work!
We’re also so happy to see Luke and Josh receive their black belts - congratulations guys! Your years of dedication to your training and the academy is inspiring, and we can’t wait to see what comes next for you both.
Gracie Barra Harrogate x Gracie Barra Apperley Bridge Interclub
A HUGE well done to the amazing GBK students across both of our schools who competed at the Interclub this weekend. We were so proud of the amazing effort everyone showed, as well as excellent sportsmanship and not to forget, brilliant Jiu Jitsu! It was a fantastic day and no doubt we’ll be holding another in 2025!
Christmas Timetable
We’ve got you sorted for your jits-fix over Christmas! We’re running classes and open mats sporadically through the festive period to ensure everyone has the opportunity to train over the festive break. Whether you want to enjoy a break or would like to top up your training, we’ve got you covered.
Timetable Changes from 2025
We’re making some changes to our timetable going into 2025. We’re really excited to be bringing another Tiny Champs class to our timetable - we’ll be running another session at 4pm on Thursdays. We’re also making changes to our Friday evening sessions. We’ll now be running no-gi followed by a GB2 open mat for those pre-weekend rounds! Tuesday evening GB1 classes will be moving downstairs to our main mat space to give us more space for those wishing to attend.
Upcoming Competitions
2025 promises to be a big year of competitions. A huge good luck to those taking part in the IBJJF European Championships, as well as those competing at the Empire Grappling Yorkshire Open.
