Welcome to our November newsletter! We’ve got an action-packed couple of months to come!
First up, we’ve got our GB Harrogate x GB Apperley Bridge Interclub taking place on the 23rd of November, starting at 9.30am! If you’re looking for a match in relaxed setting - look no further! We’ll be heading over to GB Apperley Bridge for what promises to be a really fun and friendly day! If you’re interested in a match against someone of a similar rank and weight - fill in our form!
We’ll also be welcoming Professor Victor Estima back to the academy for our annual Winter Gathering and Grading - he’ll be coming in on Sunday the 8th of December, with seminars available for both kids and adults - see more details on timings and pricing below.
In terms of competitions, we’ve got a great group heading to the Empire Grappling Lancashire Open at the weekend. A big good luck to Oscar, Luke W, Coach Luke, Wasim, Joshua, Max and Archie! We can’t wait to hear how you get on.
It’s also time to book your tickets to our Christmas Party! We’ll be heading to Revs de Cuba once again for an awesome feast and drinks in our private function room - complete with dance floor for you to bust your favourite (non-Jiu Jitsu) moves! GB Harrogate x GB Apperley Bridge Interclub: 23rd November
As mentioned above, we’re really excited to be hosting our first inter-club competition over at GB Apperley Bridge! We’ll be kicking off at 9.30am on Saturday the 23rd, with matches set for all age groups from Little Champs 1 and above! If you or your child is interested in a match, please fill out our form, and we’ll do our best to find you an opponent that matches your rank and weight.
Professor Victor Estima Winter Gathering and Grading: 8th December
We're very excited to be welcoming Victor Estima to the academy for our winter gathering seminar and grading on the 8th of December. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from Professor Victor - a Gracie Barra Europe leader - and the professor of our very own professors - Lewis, Khalil and Adam!
His experience speaks for itself - an IBJJF European and World Champion, 2nd place of the Abu Dhabi World Pro, and multi-time third place finisher in the IBJJF World and European Championships.
Outside of competition, Victor Estima is one of the biggest names in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and a coach competitors and casual learners love to learn from - his seminars are always brilliant and aren't to be missed!
We'll be running both kids and adult seminars. Our GBK seminar will start at 10:00am until 11:00am for ages 6 and above, with spaces available for £20. This will then be followed by our adults seminar (GBK students aged 13 and above are welcome to attend) from 11.30am until 1.30pm - spaces are available for £40 per person.

Gracie Barra Harrogate Christmas Party: 20th December
It's almost that time of year already! Our Christmas party is booked and we're really excited to be returning to Revolucion de Cuba after such a great evening last year!
Join us for an awesome Carribean-themed buffet catering for veggies, vegans and meat lovers - a huge hit from 2023, in our booked out private function room upstairs - no queing for the bar, and a dance floor big enough to bring your biggest moves!
We'll be kicking off the festivities at 7pm, and please feel free to bring your +1s! Simply share the booking link with them so they can buy their ticket.
