Hi Everyone
Welcome to our August newsletter! We had a fantastic July which featured some excellent competition efforts from our older GBK members, as well as great showings of dedication and perseverance for our members of the month! Congratulations to William, Mason, Sofia and Harry!
Competitions continued to come thick and fast. Archie headed to the Merseyside Open and enjoyed some fantastic results, whilst Kitty headed to the Midlands Open, bringing home a silver medal. Well done team!
Coming up, we’ve got the Empire Grappling South Yorkshire Open! Our coaching team will be heading down to Barnsley - making it a great opportunity for first time competitors to test themselves. Please feel free to speak to a member of the coaching team if this sounds like something your child might be interested in.

Kitty & Archie Enjoy Competition Appearances
We’re super proud of Archie and Kitty who have been testing their skills outside of the academy recently. After seeing amazing success back in June, Archie headed to the Merseyside Open, and brought home the bronze after a great performance - well done, Archie!
Kitty headed to the Empire Grappling Midlands Open and enjoyed an awesome match against a fantastic opponent, coming away with a silver medal - well done, Kitty!
Members of the Month
A huge well done to William, Mason, Sofia and Harry for bagging the Members of the Month trophies for July! You’ve all shown excellent dedication and we’re really proud of your improvement recently - keep up the good work!
Empire Grappling South Yorkshire Open

Women’s Free Self Defence Seminar - 20th September
We’re really excited to be hosting another Women’s Self Defence Seminar at Gracie Barra Harrogate. We’ll be kicking off on Friday the 20th of September here in the academy. If we’ve got any GBK parents or guardians who would like to book a spot, you can do so online, or speak to one of the team!
